Art Race Bike is ⅔ Complete

It’s been Art for a while; now the final parts have arrived for me to finish the rebuild and make it a Bike once more:

Art Race Bike

To complete it, make it a finished Art Race Bike, I must race it. I will be doing that in the new year.

Now that it’s all together we can weigh it: approximately 8.4kg. Here are the claimed component weights:

Thing Mass, g
SRAM Red 10s DoubleTap Controls 280
SRAM Rival Front Mech 102
SRAM Rival Rear Mech 188
SRAM Rival OCT Crankset w/BB 830
SRAM PC 1051 Chain 277
SRAM PG 1070 11-23 Cassette 210
SRAM Apex White Brakeset 308
Group subtotal 2196
Campagnolo Zonda Front Wheel 670
Campagnolo Zonda Rear Wheel 880
Vittoria Rubino 23 Tyre x2 450
Continental Race 28 Inner Tube x2 210
BBB BQR-03 Skewers 78
Wheels subtotal 2288
Race Face Respond Seat Post 290
110mm Dead Zero 1 White Stem 133
Deda RHM01 White Handlebars 304
Speedplay Zero Chrome-Moly Pedals 216
143mm Specialized Body Geometry Romin Pro Saddle 160
Planet X Carbon Bottle Cage 22
Condor Pink Cork Bar Tape & Plugs 63
Jagwire Road Pro Hot Pink Cable Set 180
FSA Orbit IS 2 headset 65
LizardSkins Chainstay Protector 12
Other parts subtotal 1445
Frame, forks 1727
Everything else 843
Total ≈8400

I was initially worried that the 843g of “Everything else” was too much to have lost, being as it’s 10% of the total mass of the bike. However it is probably not all that bad: the error in measurement of the total is ±200g because of the measurement method I used. Furthermore the listed component weights are for this years’ parts which may well be lighter than the older parts I have, and are probably the weights of best-case components: for example, SRAM only list one weight for the crankset and BB; they could have measured 50/34 chainrings on a 165mm crank which should weigh quite a lot less than my 53/39 on 172.5mm. There is also the question of whether the listed brake calliper weight includes the weight of brake pads, whether the wheel weights include the rim tape. Some of what remains is the new paint, we estimate 100g; the grease added while putting everything together probably weighs twice as much.
