Many things are one or the other, most are not both. Intuitively, one would expect things which are sharp to not be cuddly and vice versa. This is not, however, the case. Take cats – they’re cuddly (and purry) when they want to be, but they can also turn sharp without warning.
This is a very under-researched field: I’ve made a start as the diagram linked below shows, but more work needs to be done before things can be cuddled without risk.
